Description	:	Charles Scholl, son of the late Leo and Katherine Scholl, was born in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 3, 1858, and passed away on February 28, 1933, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 25 days. In 1869, when he was a child 11 years old, his parents left Philadelphia and located near Sheffield, Illinois, where they lived until the spring of 1876, when they moved to Cass county, locating in Lincoln township where they purchased a farm, the place now occupied by Cecil Scholl and family. Read More	Charles Scholl, son of the late Leo and Katherine Scholl, was born in the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on April 3, 1858, and passed away on February 28, 1933, at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 25 days. In 1869, when he was a child 11 years old, his parents left Philadelphia and located near Sheffield, Illinois, where they lived until the spring of 1876, when they moved to Cass county, locating in Lincoln township where they purchased a farm, the place now occupied by Cecil Scholl and family. On September 2, 1881, he was united in marriage to Maggie Keiner, and to this union eight children were born. Two children died in infancy and another daughter, Mrs. Effie King, passed away in April, 1930. Besides the widow he is survived by five children, Harry and Ruben Scholl of Washburn, North Dakota; George Scholl of Long Island, Kansas; Dr. Walter H. Scholl of Linton, Indiana; and Mrs. Maude McAfee of Lincoln township. He is also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mrs. Emma Burns, a sister, is left to mourn his death. One other sister and two brothers have proceeded him in death. The passing of Charley Scholl removes a familiar figure for the past half century from our midst. He was always active in civic affairs of the community, and never left any doubt as to where he stood on any public question. For years he was a member of board of directors of the Anita Independent School District, and after he and his wife left the farm, where they lived for many years, moving to Anita, he served the municipality for several years as a councilman. He also served Evergreen Cemetery Association as a trustee for many years. As a young man he became a member of Obedience Lodge, No. 380, A. F. & A. M., retaining his membership in that body up to the time of his death. He was an active member of the order, and for more than twenty years filled the office of treasurer. During his long residence in this vicinity he formed a large acquaintance with people over the whole county, and made many friends, who will be sorry to learn of his death. He was a good husband and father, a friendly neighbor and companion. He loved his home, his wife and children, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. Funeral services will be held at the Congregational church and will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. L. Anderson. Members of the Masonic Lodge will attend in a body and give their ritualistic service at the church and also at the grave in Evergreen cemetery. While not definitely decided at the time we went to press it was thought the services would be at 2:00 o'clock on Thursday afternoon.
