Somers and Charles W. Somers, both of whom were among the oldest and most respected citizens of this section. The brothers, George, who was seventy-three years of age, and Charles, who was seven years older, were sons of the late Michael and Rachel Corbin Somers, both of highly respected, esteemed Somerset county families. The first of the two brothers to cross the Great Divide was George H. Somers, a resident of the Jacksonville section, who succumbed at the McCready Memorial Hospital at approximately 8:00 o'clock Tuesday morning. The older brother succumbed at his home near this city at about 10:30 o'clock Wednesday evening, after having been ill for some time. Both were well-known throughout this section and had a legion of friends who were greatly grieved at their passing. The younger brother, George Somers, was for many years assistant superintendent at the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydocks Company, later returning to Crisfield where he engaged in the trade of shipbuilding, at which he was quite adept. He is said to have been the first man ever to build the now popular draketail style of boat. By occupation Charles W. Somers was a farmer and was noted for the fact that even after the automobile had become popular he continued to drive a pony cart on his numerous trips to town. The elder Mr. Somers is survived by one brother, John T. Somers, and besides this brother the young Mr. Somers is survived by his widow, Mrs. Laura Somers and a son, George E. Somers. "Charlie", as he was familiarly known, was never married. Funeral services for Mr. George Somers were held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Mariner's Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert H. Wilson, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Sunnyridge Memorial Park cemetery. Final rites for Mr. Charles Somers will be held this afternoon from the Mariner's Church, with Rev.
