BATES SOMERS CLAIMED BY DEATH Suffered Stroke Of Paralysis Last Friday Funeral Services Were Held Sunday Mr. L. Bates Somers, prominent Crisfield seafood dealer, and a highly respected citizen of this community, died at his home in the Jacksonville section last Friday morning. Mr. Somers suffered a stroke of paralysis early Friday and succumbed in a few hours. Although he had been in poor health for the past several months, his death was entirely unexpected. Mr. Somers was sixty-three years of age, and had resided in this section practically his entire life. He was prominently identified with the seafood industry of Crisfield, having engaged in this business several years ago. He was a member of one of Somerset County's oldest and best known families. He was a man who was admired by all for his many fine traits of character and his reputation for honesty and integrity was well known. The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lilly Somers, one son, Mr. John Lawrence Somers, of Crisfield, and one daughter, Miss Mary Somers, of Baltimore. He is also survived by three brothers, John T., Charles W., and George Somers, all of Crisfield. Funeral services were held st the late home of Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. J. R.
