Description	:	Funeral services were held Thursday for Mrs. Clara L. Jans, 85, who died February 24 at the Crete Hospital. Mrs. Jans was born July 11, 1895 on a farm in Lancaster County to August and Gesine (Menke) Henning. She attended St. John's Parochial School in Kramer and was confirmed into St. John's Lutheran Church on April 4, 1909. She married Henry C. Jans in Kramer on October 16, 1913. The Jans lived in Crete where Mrs. Jans was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for 22 years and was active in the Ladies Aid. Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. William (Viola) Meinke, Mrs. Carl (Adeline) Meinke; Mrs. Wiliam (Esther) Heitman; and son, Orval Jans, all of Crete; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
