Description	:	Clara M. Kiester, daughter of Samuel and Carrie Cole, was born August 3, 1877, in Wayne Center, Ill. She departed this life January 12, 1968, at the Fillmore County Hospital at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 9 days. She was baptized and became a member of the Methodist Church at an early age. In 1880 she and her parents moved from Illinois and made their home near Fairmont, Neb. She attended Fairmont schools. Kiester, daughter of Samuel and Carrie Cole, was born August 3, 1877, in Wayne Center, Ill. She departed this life January 12, 1968, at the Fillmore County Hospital at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 9 days. She was baptized and became a member of the Methodist Church at an early age. In 1880 she and her parents moved from Illinois and made their home near Fairmont, Neb. She attended Fairmont schools. She had the honor of being a member of the first class to graduated from the high school, consisting of 12 grades, 72 years ago. She also attended Wheaton College in Wheaton, Ill. January 31, 1900, she was united in marriage to Melton B. Kiester. To this union were born five children, Samuel M. of Norfolk, Robert M. of Geneva, Floyd M. of Albion, Phyllis Walker of Geneva and Margaret Smith of Central City, Neb. Mrs. Kiester is survived by all her children, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, many relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister. Everyone who knew her in her latter years admired her vitality, intelligence and flawless memory. Her greatest characteristic, which won her the love and respect of everyone who knew her, was intense interest in them, their families and anything that touched their lives. ------ To Clara M. I see so many things you've touched, The lovely things you've made, But I know these earthly things, Eventually will fade. But the love that guided those gentle hands, Is imprinted in my heart. And the bond which unties thy soul and mine, Can never break apart. The veil of death will dim The vision of your face, The legacy you gave to me Will live on in your place. The greatest gift of all you gave Was the zest you had for life. Live it--Love it-- Whether it be happiness or strife. Gone? The word does not apply to Thee. For I know you have been blessed With a life of eternity. --- Funeral services were conducted from the Kritner-Farmer Funearl Home in Geneva at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 16. Rev. K. Orlando Lee officiated. William Kinder sang "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset." Mrs. Melvin Olson was accompanist. Pallbearers were W. A. Biba, Lewis Grote, Joe Halama, Kenneth Miller, Leo Starr and John Turek. Interment was in the Fairmont Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal January 1968. Lot owner: Mrs. Sam (Carrie) Cole
