Description	:	Clarence W. Aeschilman, 93, Hiawatha, died Nov. 4, 2013. Clarence was born April 10, 1920, near Berwick in Nemaha County to Sylvan and Bertha Wegman Aeschilman. He entered the Army October 1941 and then the U.S. Army Air Corps. He attended tech school which built B-24 Liberator and assigned to the 90th Bomb Group, which was deployed for 38 months. He was discharged at the rank of Master SGT in October 1945, and continued in the Reserve for three years. Clarence was born April 10, 1920, near Berwick in Nemaha County to Sylvan and Bertha Wegman Aeschilman. He entered the Army October 1941 and then the U.S. Army Air Corps. Clarence then returned and operated a grocery store at Morrill and worked at the Sabetha Creamery, prior to farming near Hamlin. In 1960, working with Gas Service Co. until retiring in 1986. After he retired, he worked part time for Davies Oil in Hiawatha. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, BPOE & VFW Post No. 5210, Hiawatha and formerly BPOE No. 1741 Hiawatha Elks Lodge, and the American Legion, and VFW, both of Sabetha. Clarence served rifle detail for many military services to honor deceased veterans. Clarence married Wanda Swart, Dec. 2, 1945, near Seneca. She died Oct. 25, 1988. He later married Dorothy Smith Thompson, May 13, 1994, in Hiawatha. She survives of the home. Also surviving are a son Kenneth (Betty Jean) Aeschilman of Hiawatha, a daughter Lorraine Faye Aeschilman of Hiawatha, a grandson John E. (Jennifer) Lock of White Cloud and their daughter, Gabby, stepchildren Mike Thompson, Dennis Thompson, both of Hiawatha, Kathy (Don) Lehmann of Olathe, a sister, Bertha Arlene Peterson of Manhattan, and two step grandsons and two step-great grandsons. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters. Funeral Services: 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha. Rev. Jean Marie Grabher and Rev. Randy Quinn will officiate. Interment will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha. Friends called funeral home after 11 a.m. Wednesday.
