Description	:	Robert Elwood "Bob" Enlow, 75, Friendsville, formerly of Accident, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at his home. Born Jan. 4, 1925, in Zion, Ill., he was a son of the late Lyman Sedwick and Helen Louise (Hoye) Enlow. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, William Claude, Bruce Gilbert, Rufus "Rudy" Wilbur, and David Wesley, and two sisters, Jessie Marie Tillman and Josephine Price Jensen. Survivors include his sister, Helen Louise Enlow, and brother, Paul Hoye "Pete" Enlow, both of Accident. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, McHenry, where a service was conducted... Read More	Robert Elwood "Bob" Enlow, 75, Friendsville, formerly of Accident, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, at his home. Born Jan. 4, 1925, in Zion, Ill., he was a son of the late Lyman Sedwick and Helen Louise (Hoye) Enlow. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, William Claude, Bruce Gilbert, Rufus "Rudy" Wilbur, and David Wesley, and two sisters, Jessie Marie Tillman and Josephine Price Jensen. Survivors include his sister, Helen Louise Enlow, and brother, Paul Hoye "Pete" Enlow, both of Accident. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, McHenry, where a service was conducted Wednesday, Sept. 27, with the Rev. Ross Glotfelty officiating. Interment was in the Sang Run Cemetery. Military graveside rites were accorded by area veterans service organizations. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and other military organizations, and was a former member of the Northern Garrett County Rescue Squad. After his retirement, he farmed He was a retired U.S. Army Command Sgt. Major, and served in both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He also had served in Germany, Japan, and many stateside posts. He entered the U.S. Army in 1949 and retired in 1972. He was twice awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in combat during two tours of duty in Vietnam. Additionally, he was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal, Air Medal, and Combat Infantry Badge. ROBERT E. ENLOW - was the second great-grandson of John Friend Jr., Robinson T. Savage, and Jeremiah S. Enlow, all pioneer settlers of Garrett County. He was also the second great-grand-nephew of Meshach Browning.
