Born June 28, 1918 in Beloit he was the son of the late David Jack Falls and Gertrude Grimm Falls. He graduated from Scio High School in 1935 and furthered his education at Steubenville Business College graduated in 1937. In 1942 he married Kathleen Snyder and they purchased a farm where they raised Hereford beef cattle. Falls age 93 of Scio died Monday Oct.17, 2011 at Gables Care Center, Hopedale. Born June 28, 1918 in Beloit he was the son of the late David Jack Falls and Gertrude Grimm Falls. He graduated from Scio High School in 1935 and furthered his education at Steubenville Business College graduated in 1937. In 1942 he married Kathleen Snyder and they purchased a farm where they raised Hereford beef cattle. In addition to working on the farm he was a foreman in the handle dept. at the Scio Pottery retiring in 1980 after 45 years of service. After retiring he became a certified lay speaker for Palermo United Methodist Church for 5-1/2 years. He had also served as a Perry Twp. Trustee. David loved the Lord. He was currently a member of the New Rumley United Methodist Church and was formerly a member of Methodist Church's at Conotton and Roxford. He had been a lay leader, Sunday school teacher and visited area nursing homes where he continued to share His love. He also enjoyed traveling so after retiring he and Kathleen visited all 50 states. Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Kathleen Snyder Falls; children, Mary Lou (Rev. Henry) Mooney of Scio, Carol (Tom) Amos of Dover, Rebecca "Becky" (Rev. Mick) Foster of Damascus, Thomas David Falls of Scio and Kathy (Rick) Hein of Conotton; a sister, Fay Cunningham of Florida; fourteen grandchildren; two step grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Preceding him in death are a daughter Virginia "Ginger" Thompson and sister Eleanor Thompson. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in New Rumley United Methodist Church with Rev. David Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Gardens, Jewett. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Koch Funeral Home, Scio.
