Description	:	The Oskaloosa Independent Thursday March 20, 1941 David Lowery Neff. David Lowery NEFF was born Sept. 5, 1866, in Degraff, Ohio, the son of Henry Clay Neff and Henrietta Kensinger Neff. He passed away at his home near Meriden, Kansas, March 9, 1941. he came to Kansas in 1868, at the age of 18 months, with his parents, who settled on a farm six miles south of Hiawatha, where he grew to manhood. Read More	The Oskaloosa Independent Thursday March 20, 1941 David Lowery Neff. David Lowery NEFF was born Sept. 5, 1866, in Degraff, Ohio, the son of Henry Clay Neff and Henrietta Kensinger Neff. He passed away at his home near Meriden, Kansas, March 9, 1941. he came to Kansas in 1868, at the age of 18 months, with his parents, who settled on a farm six miles south of Hiawatha, where he grew to manhood. The year of 1891 he spent in Washington state, then he returned to Kansas and farmed the home farm. On September 29, 1892, he was united in marriage to Miss Lizzie EATON. March 4, 1919, he and his wife came to their present home. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife; one brother, Merton B. NEFF of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Mallie BROWN of Chanute, Kans., and Mrs. Hattie HIGGINS, Hiawatha, Kans.; three nephews, Leroy NEFF, Hiawatha, Kans., Francis BROWN, Kansas City, and Dr. Herbert BROWN, Chanute, Kans.; one niece, Mrs. Vivian FOOTITT of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a host of friends. He was faithful member of the Methodist church and his life among us is one that can be spoken of with pride. Funeral service was held in the Methodist church at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Meriden, conducted by Rev. Paul DAVIS. Burial was in Mt. Hope cemetery in Hiawatha, Kansas. Extracted by James Laird
