Description	:	Donald E. Johnson Donald Eugene (Jeff) Johnson of Lebanon died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at home . He was 84. Born Sept. 18, 1918, near Gadsden, he was the son of Roy H. and Wanda A. (Wynkoop) Johnson; they preceded him in death. On Feb. 27, 1954, he married Ellen M. Maloney, who died Dec. 18, 1999. Johnson graduated Perry Central High School in 1936, and was a machinist's mate with the U.S. Navy in World War II, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and received the Bronze Star and a commendation for meritorious service. Born Sept. 18, 1918, near Gadsden, he was the son of Roy H. and Wanda A. (Wynkoop) Johnson; they preceded him in death. On Feb. 27, 1954, he married Ellen M. Maloney, who died Dec. 18, 1999. Johnson graduated Perry Central High School in 1936, and was a machinist's mate with the U.S. Navy in World War II, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and received the Bronze Star and a commendation for meritorious service. After the war, he farmed in Perry and Harrison townships, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed his family, fishing and golfing. Memberships include St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge, both in Lebanon, and a former member of the American Legion at Brownsburg. Survivors include brother Howard Johnson of Saline, Mich.; sisters Helen Ruse of Lebanon and Mary Johnson and Wilma Burns, both of Brownsburg; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was also preceded in death by brothers Wendell and David Johnson; and sisters Violet Randolph, Loris Cunningham and Esther Jarrett. Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. today at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon with vigil services at 3 p.m. Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 319 E. South St., Lebanon, the Rev. Anthony Levi officiating.
