Born Feb. 18, 1951, in Ida Grove, Dorothy was the daughter of Vernon "Pete" and Esther (Stamp) Thornhill. Burial was in Ida Grove Cemetery. "Dot" Brown, 56, of Ida Grove died Friday, March 23, 2007, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove. Born Feb. 18, 1951, in Ida Grove, Dorothy was the daughter of Vernon "Pete" and Esther (Stamp) Thornhill. Burial was in Ida Grove Cemetery. Services were 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove. Dot grew up and received her education in Ida Grove, graduating from Ida Grove High School with the class of 1969. In 1970, she married Dennis Nepper. The couple were blessed with two children, Devi and Damion. They were later divorced. On June 15, 1985, Dot was united in marriage to Steve Brown in Ida Grove. Dot worked over the years as a hostess at several Ida Grove businesses, including Hillside Pub, Ida Bowl, JuVal's and Ida Grove Country Club. She was currently employed as manager at Skate Palace in Ida Grove. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove. She loved time spent with her grandchildren and, in earlier years, enjoyed bowling and golfing. Her dog, Donda, was special to her. Dot will be remembered for her love of people and her willingness to help anyone in need. Survivors include her husband, Steve; two children, Devi (Mike) Ray of Ida Grove, and Damion Nepper of Sergeant Bluff; three grandchildren, Colby and Gage Nepper and Landon Ray; two brothers, Kenny (Ann) Thornhill and Mike (Robin) Thornhill, all of Ida Grove; three sisters, Marlene (Darrell) Bennigsdorf of Ida Grove; Deb (Jeff) Cranston of Odebolt, Iowa; and Sandy (Vern) Olberding of Spencer, Iowa; as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
