Born in Inglisville, Annapolis County, she was a daughter of the late Lindsay and Elizabeth (Beals) (Burns) Stoddart. She was employed with the Poultry Division of Archibald Farms for 23 years and as a P.C.W. with the former Palmeter’s Nursing Home for eight years. She also enjoyed quilting and many handicrafts. Born in Inglisville, Annapolis County, she was a daughter of the late Lindsay and Elizabeth (Beals) (Burns) Stoddart. She was employed with the Poultry Division of Archibald Farms for 23 years and as a P.C.W. with the former Palmeter’s Nursing Home for eight years. She also enjoyed quilting and many handicrafts. She is survived by three daughters, Diane (David) Fuller, Blomidon; Gail (Lenny) Barkhouse, Scott’s Bay Road; Patricia (Wendell) Brewster, Centreville; a son, Ivan (Doreen), Inglisville; three foster children, Phillip Folz, Eddie Hiltz, and Arnold Fisher; two sisters, Alice (Dennis) Dahr, New Minas; Carolyn King, Paradise; three brothers, Ronald (Wilma) Stoddart, Ledgehill; James (Clarice) Stoddart, Harmony; Wayne Stoddart, Inglisville; a half-sister, Stella Brewer, Halifax; a half-brother, Leslie Beals, South Williamston; cousin (raised as a sister), Evelyn Witty, Trenton, Ontario; 10 grandchildren, five step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry “Alex” Veinot; a sister, Myrna Penny; a brother, Harold; a sister, in infancy; a brother, Raymond; three half-sisters, Viola Walker, Isabel O’Neil and Laura Corkum; a cousin (raised as a sister), Helen Connell; a half-brother, Floyd Beals; two grandsons, Tyler and Ryan. Visitation was held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011, Reverend Doctor Mark Parent and Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial took place in the Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown, Annapolis County. Family flowers only, by request. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the EHS paramedics and the doctors, nurses and staff of the Valley Regional Hospital ER, ICU and Medical A for their kindness, care and compassion. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital – Palliative Care or the Pereau Baptist Church.
