Description	:	Earle Eugene Huston was born November 17,1 900, in Brock, Nemaha County, Nebraska, the son of Charles Edwin and Mary Louise (Bailey) Huston. Earle graduated from Brock High School in 1919. He then attended two years at the Nebraska State University. From there he attended the Sweeney School in Kansas City, Missouri. Read More	Earle Eugene Huston was born November 17,1 900, in Brock, Nemaha County, Nebraska, the son of Charles Edwin and Mary Louise (Bailey) Huston. Earle graduated from Brock High School in 1919. He then attended two years at the Nebraska State University. From there he attended the Sweeney School in Kansas City, Missouri. While in Kansas City he started working in the carpentry industry. In 1926 Earle moved to Eureka, Kansas to work with his brother-in-law, Lyle Baird who had a furniture and undertaking business. Earle married Vessie Louisa Mattingly on November 11, 1933, in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. Vessie was born August 1, 1909, just outside of Eureka, Greenwood County, Kansas, the daughter of Edward Stephen Mattingly. Earle and Vessie had the following known children: 1. Mary Ann (Huston) 1) Higgs, 2) Ward 2. Earla Sue (Huston) 1) VanHorn, 2) Tate In 1941 Earle left his wife and daughter with her parents in Neal, Kansas and moved to Wichita to find work in the carpentry industry. After almost nine months, his wife and daughter were finally able to join him. Earle worked initially for Armagost & Moreland Construction Company but most of his career was spent with Vollmer Construction Company. Earle died January 30, 1972, in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. After Earle's death, Vessie returned to Eureka, Kansas. Vessie died June 15, 2001, in Eureka, Greenwood County, Kansas. OBITUARY Earle E. Huston Earle Eugene Huston, 71, of 730 S. Holyoke, Wichita, died Sunday, January 30, 1972. Services were Wednesday, February 2, at Broadway Mortuary. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka, with Masonic graveside services. Born at Brock, Neb., November 17, 1900, he came to Eureka in 1926 and was in the furniture and undertaking business with his brother-in-law, the late Lyle C. Baird, until 1940 when he and his family moved to Wichita where he did construction work for 30 years. He was married to Vessie Louise Mattingly of Neal, November 11, 1933. He is survived by his widow, of the home; two daughters, Marry Ann Higgs of Golden, Colo. and Earla Sue Van Horn of Campbell, Calif.,; and five grandchildren, Rhonda, Renee, David and Darren Higgs and Rochelle Van Horn. He was a member of Brock Methodist Church, No. 201 Carpenters Union, The Trestle Board, Lodge 162 of Brock.
