Read More	Dies After Brief Illness _______________ Edgar Pitt DeLong Is Sick Only Sixty Hours Before Death Claims Him _________________ Suffering only about 60 hours from an acute attack of Stomach trouble, Edgar Pitt DeLong died last evening at 9:30 o'clock at the home of his son Paul C. DeLong, 912 Linden avenue. Mr. DeLong was quite aged, but until last Saturday, he had been in his usual health. The attack of the acute stomach trouble quickly sapped his strength and death came. Mr. DeLong had resided in Waterloo at different times for a number of years. He was born Feb. 12, 1832, in Pennsylvania and came to the state with the pioneers. He followed the occupation of well drilling for a number of years. _____________________________________________________ Council Bluffs - The Evening Nonpareil May 22, 1907 - page 2 Obituary. Edgar D. DeLong. News of the death of his brother, Edgar D. DeLong at Waterloo, was received here by Rev. Henry DeLong. The remains will be brought here for burial beside those of his wife and children. One daughter survives, Mrs. Ella Stevick, 134 Vine Street, Council Bluffs. Mr. DeLong came to Council Bluffs in the 60's and resided here until about 10 years ago when he removed to Waterloo. DeLong, who died in Waterloo, was held this afternoon from the residence of Mrs. Ella Stevick, daughter of the deceased 146 Vine Street, at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Newland pastor of the Fifth Avenue Methodist Church officiating. The internment took place in Walnut cemetery.
