Hodgkin officiating, assisted by Rev. R. O. Louthan, Randolph, Nebraska, and Rev. H. J. Alexander, Meadow Grove, Nebraska. Mrs. Gerald Danskin of Norfolk sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "Goodnight and Goodmorning" accompanied by Mrs. H. L. Church of Battle Creek. Burial was in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk. Galyen, Ernest Ellis, Vernon Horn, John Horrocks, Kelly Austin, and Fern Wilson, all of Meadow Grove. Mrs. Edith F. Stauffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Pratt, was born May 25, 1893, near Battle Creek, Nebraska, and departed this life April 30, 1952 at the age of 58 years, 11 months, and 5 days. She attended public schools at Battle Creek and Meadow Grove having been graduated from the eleventh grade of the latter school in 1910. Her final year of high school was completed in Lincoln and further studies in teaching and music were made at Wesleyan University and the University of Nebraska, followed by three years of teaching in public schools. She was baptized in the Methodist Church at Meadow Grove May 23, 1909; in 1917 became a member of the Mennonite Church at Aurora, Nebraska and in 1945 again became a member of the Methodist Church in Meadow Grove. On December 28, 1916, she was united in marriage to John H. Stauffer and lived on farms near Milford and Phillips, Nebraska, and more recently near Meadow Grove. To this union were born five children: Mrs. Violet Shonkwiler of Smith Center, Kansas; Ivan Stauffer of Lincoln, Nebraska; Miss Eunice Stauffer of Omaha, Nebraska; Glenn Stauffer and Mrs. Betty Inness of Meadow Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mrs. Blanche Pratt in 1944, and Mr. William Pratt in 1950. Surviving are her husband and the five children; also nine grandchildren; also two brothers, Harlan Pratt of Washington D. C., and Irven Pratt of Meadow Grove; and a slster, Mrs. E. C. Coleman of Seattle, Washington; together with other relatives and a host of friends. She was a devout Christian mother, devoted to her family and served her community well as a kindly friend and neighbor, and will be missed by aIl. Gifts have been made to a memorial fund created for the Grace Children's Home at Henderson, Nebraska, and for the installation of a public address system in the Methodist Church at Meadow Grove, in memory of Mrs. Stauffer.
