Burroughs was in the act of crossing the street when the accident occurred, the horse and buggy moving at a rapid gait, going east. Pedestrians seeing Burroughs' danger, called to him, but not in time. The unknown driver kept on, according to witnesses, without making an attempt to stop. Burroughs was picked up and carried into his home. It was said last night that the full extent of the injuries will not be ascertained until today. The matter is being investigated by the police. Garrett, of Rockville, Misses Alice M. and Mary B. Burroughs, daughters of Edward E. Burroughs of Alta Vista, have instituted suit in circuit court here against the Washington and Rockville Railway Company for $10,000 damages each. The petition sets forth that the plaintiffs were seriously injured near Ginger's Curve April 4, when a car on which they were passages collided with another car of the defendant company.
