Description	:	Mass of the Christian Burial was held for Edward Joseph Colgan, 66, Alma, Tuesday at 10:30 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church here. Mr. Colgan died Saturday evening at the Harlan County Hospital. A Rosary service was held Monday evening at 8 o’clock at the Zulauf-Banta-Torrey Chapel with Father Robert Smith officiating. Mr. Colgan was born April 27, 1909 on a farm five miles north of Alma where he grew up and attended Rural School No. 6. Mr. Colgan was born April 27, 1909 on a farm five miles north of Alma where he grew up and attended Rural School No. 6. He lived in the same home where he was born until he retired from farming in 1972 and moved to Alma. A veteran of World War II, he served in the US Army Air Force from 1942-1945. Mr. Colgan had been a resident of the Colonial Villa Good Samaritan Center for the past year. Prior to that he had been a very active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Fay Cady Post 118 of the American Legion in Alma. Survivors include two sisters, Miss Celestine Colgan of Alma and Mrs. August (Berniece) Lehman of Denver, Colo., numerous nieces and nephews. Burial was in the Alma cemetery.
