Nieman and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Henry Nieman, passed away with in the short space of time. Funeral services were held for the elderly lady from St. Johns Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon and for the younger one at the same church Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Theo. Norden in charge of both services. Interment, directed by Wollmer & Warne, was made in the church cemetery. Mrs. Wm. Nieman, as Elise Becker, was born December 1, 1856, in Germany and came to this country in 1881, making her home with a sister in this county until her marriage to Wm. Nieman October 19, 1883. Her husband preceded her in death in 1934. She was the mother of eight children, five of whom survive to mourn her loss. They are George and Mrs. Sophie Engleland, Sidney; Mrs. Martin Schroeder, Hooper; Henry and Louise; at home. The death of Mrs. Henry Nieman, which followed a paralytic stroke, occurred at a West Point hospital where, she was taken when her last illness came upon her on Saturday, Oct. 9. Mrs. Nieman was formerly Ella Mae Wike and she was born June 17, 1892, in North Carolina. She came to Fremont in 1911 and in 1913 was married to Edw. O. Larson, a brother of A. O. Larson of Hooper. Mr. Larson died in 1935 leaving his wife and one son Lester Larson, of Chicago. On Dec. 16, 1936, Mrs. Larson was married to Henry Nieman, who with her son, her mother and two brothers in North Carolina, and three sisters in Chicago survive to mourn her passing.hhw
