Description	:	Elizabeth Anderson Guthrie was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania, July 6, 1824. with her parents, she moved to Muskingum County, Ohio in 1837, where her parents died. In 1844 she went to Knox County, Ohio, Where January 1, 1846 she was married to P. D. McClelland. In 1856 the family came to Warren County, Iowa, where they lived until 1859, when they moved to Adams County, Iowa. She died May 8th, 1897, aged seventy-two years, ten months, and two days. In 1844 she went to Knox County, Ohio, Where January 1, 1846 she was married to P. D. McClelland. In 1856 the family came to Warren County, Iowa, where they lived until 1859, when they moved to Adams County, Iowa. She died May 8th, 1897, aged seventy-two years, ten months, and two days. In early life the deceased united with the Presbyterian Church and remained a member until she came to Iowa. After coming to Iowa, there being no Presbyterian congregation accessible, she united with the Baptist Church. While a member of this church, she was rejoiced to see her husband and all of the children, except the two younger, join her in following the Master. In 1872, the Baptist congregation having become extinct, the subject of this sketch untied with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, in which she lived until her decease. She leaves a husband and six children to cherish fondly her memory, all of whom reside in Adams County. A simple quiet funeral service was held at the old home, conducted by Rev. R. C. Rowley, of Brooks, after which the remains were interred in the Methodist Grove Cemetery, to await the summons of Him who is the "resurrection and the life."
