Description	:	ALTON EMPIRE, Thursday, February 23, 1922: Grandma Boland Passes Away Lizzie Anita Coover was born near Circleville, Ohio, April 10, 1884 and died at Alton Kansas, February 18, 1922. Age 77 years 10 months and 9 days. Death was caused by diabetes and heart trouble. She moved to Iowa with her parents when very young. Her father died while the family lived in Iowa. When she was ten years old the mother and the children started to Kansas and her mother died on the way. Lizzie then returned to Iowa and made her home with strangers March 20, 863 (sic)... Read More	ALTON EMPIRE, Thursday, February 23, 1922: Grandma Boland Passes Away Lizzie Anita Coover was born near Circleville, Ohio, April 10, 1884 and died at Alton Kansas, February 18, 1922. Age 77 years 10 months and 9 days. Death was caused by diabetes and heart trouble. She moved to Iowa with her parents when very young. Her father died while the family lived in Iowa. When she was ten years old the mother and the children started to Kansas and her mother died on the way. Lizzie then returned to Iowa and made her home with strangers March 20, 863 (sic) she was married to Albert Davis. One child was born to this union, Olive Imus now of Spokane Washington. Mr. Davis died May 8, 1865. Aug. 31 1868 she was married to James Boland at Grinnell Iowa. To this union seven children were born, John E, Elmer who died Feb 22 1913, Mary who died at the age of eight years, Hattie and Fredie, twins, who died in infancy, Alva and Emma. In the fall of 1883 she moved with her family to Alton Kansas. Mr. Boland died August 31, 1913. She leaves four children, Alva, Emma, and John of Alton and Mrs. Imus of Spokane, Washington, fifteen grandchildren, ten of who attended the funeral, and seven great-grandchildren; also one brother Edward Coover who has made his home with her the past six years. The funeral was conducted at the home Sunday afternoon by the pastor of the Alton Congregational Church. Interment in the Alton Cemetery. The pallbearers were Frank Bishop, Frank Huston, Walter Nivison, Chis Clausen, John Storer and James Fuller. Mrs. Boland leaves many firends (sic) who sympathize with members of the family in the loss of mother, sister and grandmother. Mrs. Boland, many years ago accepted Christ as her personal Savior but never became a member of any church.
