Ledger Thursday Nov. 10, 1955 Pg. 8 Col. 5 Illness Fatal To Mrs. Stallman, 70 Mrs. Lizzie E. Stallman, 70, died at 2:40 a.m. today at the Jefferson County hospital where she had been a patient since Sunday. Mrs. Stallman made her home at 709 S. Fifth St. She had been in failing health for two years. Last rites will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of Dr. E. A. Piper. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Mrs. Stallman was born in Germany Nov. 21, 1885, the daughter of August and Anna Hildebrand Giese. She was married to Neal M. Stallman Feb. 14, 1906. He preceded her in death March 17, 1949. Mr. and Mrs. Stallman resided on a farm in Jefferson county for many years, moving to Fairfield 20 years ago. Mrs. Stallman is survived by three children, Earnest Stallman, Mrs. Freda Zuehike and Mrs. Anna Roland, all of Fairfield. Four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Earnest (sic. Ernest) Geise, Lockridge, and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Fitzwater, Fairfield, and Mrs. Elsie Harter, Ottumwa, also survive. Two brothers and three sisters are deceased.
