She passed away August 22, 2002 at the Nelson Good Samaritan Center, Nelson, Nebraska, at the age of 90 years, eight months and 14 days. She passed away August 22, 2002 at the Nelson Good Samaritan Center, Nelson, Nebraska, at the age of 90 years, eight months and 14 days. Elizabeth attended grade school at the Shiloh and Brown schools and graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1928. She was united in marriage to Ralph Meyer on October 12,1929, at the Methodist Church, Belleville, Kansas. Four children were born to this union. Elizabeth was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and quilting. She was a member of the Nelson Community Church of Christ and was a Gold Star Member. Preceding her in death were her parents, and four brothers, Ben, Rodber, Wray and Myrl. Survivors include her husband Ralph of the Nelson Good Samaritan Center, Nelson, Nebraska; three sons, Lindall and wife Evelyn of Lincoln, Nebr.; Lindley and wife Emily Jo of Surprise, Ariz.; Gordon and wife Sharon of Nelson, Nebraska and a daughter, Nancy Baker and her husband Gary of Blue Springs, Missouri.; 13 grand children; 20 great grand children; three great-great grand children, and sisters, Virginia Schleufer of Superior, Nebr. Bertha Mae Schultz and husband of Ruskin, Nebraska and one brother, Harry and wife Muriel of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 24, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska with Jim Rodehorst officiating. Music was "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace" with Ruth Watts as soloist and Carlita Price as organist. Pallbearers' were Jason Baker, Mark Meyer, Marlin Shaw, Larry J. Schultz, Dale Kathman, Ervin Schluefer, and Mike Shaw. Honorary Pallbearers were her grandchildren. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.
