Description	:	Ralph Albert Meyer, the son of Henry and Ola (DeMilt) Meyer, was born on October 1, 1908 near Nelson, Nebraska. He passed away on July 27, 2007 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 98 years, 9 months and 26 days. Ralph attended the Fairview School south of Nelson through the 8th grade and graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1929. Read More	Ralph Albert Meyer, the son of Henry and Ola (DeMilt) Meyer, was born on October 1, 1908 near Nelson, Nebraska. He passed away on July 27, 2007 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 98 years, 9 months and 26 days. Ralph attended the Fairview School south of Nelson through the 8th grade and graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1929. In 1949-51 he was the assistant coach for the Nelson High School football team. He farmed the majority of his life, many years with the use of horses. He had a great love for horses and enjoyed visiting and telling stories with others about them. He was also an lineman with the Rural Electrical Association for over 20 years. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Shaw on October 12, 1929, at the Methodist Church, Belleville, Kansas. Four children were born to this union. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elizabeth on August 22, 2002, brother Alfred Meyer, sisters, Mildred Zimmerman and Marjorie Fisher and a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Meyer. He is survived by three sons, Lendall of Lincoln, Nebraska, Lindley and wife Emily Jo of Surprise, Arizona, Gordon and wife Sharon of Nelson, Nebraska and a daughter Nancy Baker and husband Gary of Blue Springs, Missouri; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, brothers, Donald Meyer and wife Esther of Superior, Nebraska, Harlan Meyer of Nelson, Nebraska and one sister Norma Osborn of Beatrice, Nebraska along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 10:30 AM from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry officiating. Music was ‘"In The Garden" and "Amazing Grace" with Alfred & Janelle Hanson as soloist and Carlita Erickson as organist. Pallbearers were Jason Baker, Mark Meyer, Mike Meyer, Larry Schultz, Matt Baker and Dale Kathman. Honorary pallbearers were all of Ralph's Grandchildren. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska. Klawitter-Price Funeral of Nelson, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.
