Description	:	Rodber Phillip "Rod" Shaw, one of eight children of Harry and Lora Elizabeth Harris Shaw, was born on a farm near Nelson, Sept. 17, 1913. Read More	Rodber Phillip "Rod" Shaw, one of eight children of Harry and Lora Elizabeth Harris Shaw, was born on a farm near Nelson, Sept. 17, 1913. He died April 23 at the Mary Lanning Hospital, Hastings, at the age of 69 years, 7 months and 6 days. He was educated at Nelson, In both country and city schools. Shaw was baptized in the United Brethren Church, north of Nelson, and was a member of the United Methodist Church, Superior at the time of his death. April 16, 1935 he was married to Mary Margaret Brown in Nebraska City. To this union three children were born. Mrs. Shaw died June 14, 1975. Feb. 11, 1979, he and Helen Sorensen Nelso were married at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Ruskin. He lived in the Nelson, Superior and Ruskin areas most of his life. At the time of his death he was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Elks Lodge and Danish Brotherhood. He retired from B&S Tire Market after 20 years. He and his wife Helen, were making their home in Ruskin. Preceding him in death were his parents, his first wife, Mary Shaw and one brother Wray Shaw. He is survived by his wife Helen; one daughter Mrs. Albert Hamel (Marillea), Henderson, Neveda; two sons Cecil Shaw of Kenesaw and Marlin (Butch) Shaw, Superior; one step-son Conrad T. Nelson of Lincoln; one step-daughter Mrs. David Brothwell j(Barbara of Mankato; three sisters, Mrs. Ralph Meyer (Elizabeth) of Nelson, Mrs. Lester Schleufer (Virginia) of Superior, and Mrs. Edwin Schultz (Bertha Mae) of Ruskin; three brothers, Myrl Shaw of Orange, California, Harry Shaw of Elkhorn, Wisc., and Ben Shaw of Lincoln; eight grandchildren, Stephanie and Timothy Shaw, Donna, Ray, Philip and Malcolm Shaw and Gordon and Terri Hamel; six step-grandchildren, Lane, Susan and Blake Nelson, Robin Smith and Jim and Carrie Bothwell; two great grandchildren, Kasey and Terril Hamel; and many other relatives. Funeral services were Tuesday, April 16, at 2 p.m., from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marion Knoell and the Rev. Jeffrey Chubb officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
