Description	:	Lora Elizabeth (Harris) Shaw was born to John Brush and Margaret Ann (Schirner) Harris on September 14, 1890, at Nelson, Nebraska. She passed away November 13, 1979, at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 29 days. Read More	Lora Elizabeth (Harris) Shaw was born to John Brush and Margaret Ann (Schirner) Harris on September 14, 1890, at Nelson, Nebraska. She passed away November 13, 1979, at the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 29 days. Lora was baptized as a young lady at the Little Blue River and she attended rural Shilo School. She has lived her entire life in and around Nelson. January 4, 1911, Lora was united in marriage to Harry Shaw. To this union eight children were born. Harry and Lora lived a happy long life together until Harry's death on January 12, 1979. Lora was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #187, a 57 year member of the United Methodist Church, Nelson, and a member of the United Methodist Women's Society. Preceding her in death were both her parents, her husband, Harry, one son, Wray Andrew, five brothers and two sisters. Lora was a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missted by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her children, Mrs. Ralph (Elizabeth) Meyer of Nelson, Mrs. Lester (Virginia) Schleufer of Superior, Mrs. Edwin (Bertha Mae) Schultz and Rodber Shaw, both of Ruskin, Myrl Shaw of Orange, California, Harry Shaw of Elkhorn, Wisconsin and Ben Shaw of Lincoln; 24 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one sister, Isa McCutchan of Nelson; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 17, from the United Methodist Church in Nelson. Rev. Clair Kess officiated. Marlin Shaw, Gordon Meyer, Irvin Schleufer, Michael Shaw, Larry Schultz and Dennis Shaw were pallbearers. "Whispering Hope" and "In The Garden" were sung by Debi Garrison and "How Great Thou Art" was sung by the congregation with Jan Schnitker as organist. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of the arrangements. Out of town relatives and friends attending funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Shaw, Elkhorn, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Shaw and Marcy, Aurora, Colorado; Hazel Harris, Boise, Idaho; Mark Meyer, Denver, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Shaw, Derald, Dennis and Ben, Mr. and Mrs. Lindall Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Janak, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Mommareth and Mr. and Mrs. George Hessling, all of Lincoln; Dr. and Mrs. George Harris, Cambridge; Mrs. Sandra Leeder and Benjamin, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Peters, Mr. and Mrs. George Jahnke, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hutson, all of Hastings; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Luth and Jolyn, Grand Island; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gerberding, Aurora; Mr. and Mrs. Gary Baker, Jason and Matt, Malcoln; Mr. and Mrs. Ken Gleaves, Minden; and Aliene Moon, Fairfield.
