Grote, pastor of the First Methodist church officiating. Mrs. G. W. Rieke played two organ solos, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset." Members of the Ruby Rebekah Lodge attended in a body and paid tribute tot heir departed sister. Caring for the flowers were Mr. and Mrs. David Foster, Mrs. Rex Foster, Mrs. William Stevens and Miss Mary Van Loo. The pall bearers were Thomas Bowman, Russell Fetzer, Dr. L. J. Bellegante, Charles Seaton, Charles Michalek, and Don Nowotny. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Victor. Jennie Wilson, daughter of John E. and Elizabeth Wilson, was born in Croxdale, England, Jan. 23, 1881. She came to America with her parents, and they made their home in Illinois for three years, then returned to England for three years. They again came to this country and lived in Streater, IL., later at Oskaloosa, and came to Victor in 1892. She received her education in the Victor public school. On May 7, 1900, she was united in marriage to Edward C. Kempf of Victor, and to this union three children were born. She was a faithful member of the Ruby Rebekah lodge of Victor and was also a member of the Past Noble Grand Circle, in both of which she was very active, attending meetings whenever possible. Her health had been failing during the past five months, and she passed away only a few hours after suffering a heart attack late Thursday night. She had attained the age of 80 years and 10 days. She leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, Gertrude, now Mrs. James M. Callahan of Victor, and two sons, Lester of Victor and Earl of Atkins, Iowa; three grandchildren, Kay and Keith Kempf of Victor, and Edward Kempf of Atkins; one brother, Richard Wilson of Victor; other relatives and many friends. She will be greatly missed by her family, in the lodge hall by her Rebekah sisters, and in the community by her friends and neighbors. If there was sickness or death in the neighborhood, you would always find Jennie there with a helping hand. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Edward C. Kempf, who dies in 1941; also an infant sister and brother.
