Some time later the Grau family transferred to the St. paul Lutheran Church of Glasco where Elizabeth was Confirmed on May 26, 1912, by Pastor Fitting. Her life has been characterized by service to her Lord and His Church. Chief among her activities was teaching young people in the Sunday School of St. Paul's where she was a faithful teacher for more than forty years. For many years she has been active in the missionary society, now the United Lutheran Church Women, of her church. To Elizabeth, "home" and "church" were all but synonymous terms. Several weeks ago she suffered a severe stroke and was confined to the Beloit hospital. She answered her Lord's call and entered eternal life at noon on Monday, September 7. She is survived by only her sister, Miss Elma Grau, of the home. Funeral services were conducted at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Wednesday, September 9, at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Moebus officiating. He was assisted by Pastor Robert D. Hamilton of Kansas City, a former pastor of St. Paul's.
