Read More	Glasco Sun, Nov. 13, 1947, page 1: Mrs. Ella D. Robertson Dies At Simpson Mrs. Ella D. Robertson, well known Simpson resident, passed away quietly at her home Monday morning, Nov. 10, 1947. She was the widow of James A. Robertson, Sr., prominent stockman and farmer, who died June 17, 1943. She had been a resident of Mitchell county for sixty-nine years, locating there with her husband July 1, 1878. They settled on a farm one mile north of Simpson where they endured all the hardships of early settlers. They moved to Simpson in March, 1902. The couple celebrated their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary on February 25, 1943. Mrs. Robertson was born March 27, 1862, at Waverly, Mo., to Mr. and Mrs. John Webb, and was married to James Robertson at Waverly, Mo., on February 25, 1877. She is survived by three children, Viola E. Pearce, Beatrice E. Childs, and Charley A. Robertson, all residing in Mitchell county. One son, George L. Robertson, preceded her in death, being killed in an accident June 22, 1934. She is also survived by six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Grant Sylvester of Waverly, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Robertson was a good wife and a noble mother, living her life for her family. In later years she derived much joy from her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Glasco Wednesday afternoon, November 12, 1947, at 2:00 o'clock, with the Rev. Paul J. Vielguth, retired Methodist minister of Burlingame, Kansas, officiating. Singers were Will Pilcher, J.L. Pilcher, J.H. Cleaver, and C.F. Blake, accompanied by Mrs. O.L. Norton at the piano. Flower bearers were Mrs. Eddie Smejkal, Mrs. Asa McClintock, Mrs. Caroline Pearson, and Mrs. Charley Pearson. Serving as pallbearers were Gordon Robertson, James A. Robertson, Jr., Hubert Anderson, Wilbur Spicher, Oris McClintock, and George Robert Jones. Interment was in Glasco cemetery, with the Griffith Funeral Home in charge.
