Her younger years were spent working at Brenamen Blinds in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She wed Lloyd Carberry on March 23, 1953. To this union 3 wonderful children were born. Read More	Ellen Mae Carberry began her journey October 29, 1927, in Hotchkiss, Colorado, born in the rural home of her Aunt Ruth James. She was born to Ella and Glen James. Her younger years were spent working at Brenamen Blinds in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She wed Lloyd Carberry on March 23, 1953. To this union 3 wonderful children were born. Moreen Jensen (Steve), Bennington, Ne. Greg Carberry (Debbie) Elkhorn, Ne, and the late Richard Carberry (Julie) Council Bluffs, IA. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lloyd, and her beloved son Richard. She is the loving grandmother of Buffi Lage (Mike), Stephanie Robbins (Lynn), Alec Carberry, Ben Zahm, Stacy McGrath (Jon), Scot Carberry, and Ryan Carberry. Two great-grandchildren Zoe Jensen-Pickett and Logan Robbins. Other survivors include brother, Al James (Charose), nieces and nephews. Ellen spent her life deeply devoted to her faith in Jesus Christ. She has been a member of the Emmanuel Nazarene Church for nearly 65 years. Attending services twice on Sunday and Wednesday evening. Jesus Christ was the center of Ellen's life. Her devotion, passion, happiness, and love of the Lord satisfied her soul. Jesus said "surely I am with you always, to the very end of age" Ellen would move heaven and earth to fulfill her testimony for the Lord. With a joyful spirit she taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school, providing a helping hand to anyone who had a need. Offering rides to and from church, sitting with an ill friend, any opportunity to serve she was there. Ellen passed away peacefully to the glorious gates of Heaven on September 6, 2016 at the age of 88. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral will be Wednesday, 10 a.m., at the Emanuel Church of the Nazarene at 23rd Avenue and 13th Street. Interment will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
