She spent the first years of her life in Pawnee City, attending school here and at the Peru state teachers college, and taught in Pawnee and York counties. EMMA ORD MYERS Emma Jane, daughter of George R. and Anna M. Ord, was born in Pleasant Hill, Mo., Aug. 16, 1897, and died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Robert Cox, in Pawnee City July 14, 1944. She spent the first years of her life in Pawnee City, attending school here and at the Peru state teachers college, and taught in Pawnee and York counties. In 1916 she was united in marriage to Harland O. Myers of this city, and to this union was born a son, Darrell Sterling Myers. For the past several years Mrs. Myers made her home in Chicago, where she was a successful business woman. Shen a young girl she united with the baptist church of Pawnee City and was an active member as long as she remained here. She leaves to mourn her departure her son, Darrell, and wife and granddaughter, of Miami, Fla.; her sisters, Mrs. Robert Cox and Mrs. Frank Webb, of Pawnee City; her brothers, John and Harold Ord of California; two half-sisters, Mabel Ord of DuBois and Venus Ord Marshall of Kearney; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Wherry chapel, Rev. W. N. Wallis officiating, and interment was in the Pawnee City cemetery.
