About two weeks prior she had given birth to a child and her death was due to blood poisoning. Funeral services will be held this afternoon from the home and the remains will be laid to rest in the German Lutheran church cemetery. Rev. George H. From the Orchard [Nebraska] News 14 Apr 1916 (transcription by John Beckman) Mrs. Carl Stelling Rites Held Emma Mathilda Elizabeth Stelling was born 20 October 1875 near Hooper, NE. She was the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mosel. She was baptized in the Lutheran church, having attended the parochial school, receiving a thorough instruction in the Lutheran faith. With her husband she lived on a farm in Washington County, Nebraska, and in 1903 moved to a farm in Wisconsin. In 1912 they moved on a farm near Orchard, Nebraska, where she remained until death. She was a prominent member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Funeral services were held at the home. Isaiah 41:10 "Fear thou not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am thy God." English sermon on Philippians 1:21: "For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain." She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, ten children, and a host of friends.
