Early in the 1950s Enzbrenner began a conservation program and continued working at it each year until now he has all of his 102 acres of cropland terraced. He has six acres in brome waterways for terrace outlets and one dugout . . . Enzbrenner's crop rotation is beans, milo and corn. He usually has clover and wheat, but not the last two years . . . Enzbrenner was asked to comment on the future of farming and replied as follows: "It is hard to say what's ahead because farming is changing so fast these days. "I started my farming operation with a team of horses and not much capital, but that can't be done today. I would like to know myself what future the farmer has." Enzbrenner is a member of St. Louis Catholic church at Good Intent and a member of the Atchison County Farmers Union Co-op. His hobbies have been 'coon hunting, fishing and other hunting but he hasn't been able to participate actively lately. Enzbrenner was a 1971 Kansas Banker's association award winner for soil conservation practices accomplished on his farm.
