Mrs. Haidsiak died at their farm home near Nelson Sunday following several months of failing health. The Rev. Mr. Ewel Vaughan, pastor of the Nelson Christian Church, was the officiating clergyman. Estella Belle Rouse, daughter of Sylvester and Eva Rouse, was born Sept. 4, 1883, in a sod house on the farm southwest of Nelson where her brother Floyd Rouse now lives. She departed this life at her home southwest of Nelson on Febr. 7, 1960, at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 3 days. After completing rural school, she attended high school in Nelson. She was united in marriage to Charles W. Haidsiak Dec. 12, 1906, and to this union were born ten children. Two sons, LeRoy and Glen, preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband: eight children, Willis Haidsiak of Nelson, Lester Haidsiak of Schaller, Ia., Fern Cassell of Nelson, Esther Mae Wurtz of Talmo, Kans., Marie Lawrence of Wichita, Kan., Arthur Haidsiak at home, John Haidsiak of Wichita, Kans., and Ruth Borcherding of Schaller, Ia.; one brother, Floyd Rouse of Nelson; and twenty-one grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Besides the two sons, she was preceded in death by her father and mother, two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Haidsiak lived her entire life in the Highland community with the exception of one year she and her husband lived northeast of Nelson and one year the family lived near Superior, Nebr. She placed her trust in her Savior at an early age and has for many years been a faithful member of the Presbyterian church (sic) in Nelson, and had spent many hours with her family Bible.
