She was visiting her daughter and family when stricken with paralysis and died two hours later. Funeral services were held here Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Sutphen Funeral Home, with the Rev. E. M. Buehler in charge, and the singing was by Mrs. Grace Nordyke and Mrs. Maude Scott, accompanied by Mrs. Elzene Russell. Mrs. Russell Winter and Mrs. L. B. William were in charge of flowers. The casket bearers were Russell Winter, Chester Gourley, Walter Matthael, Fred Lamkin, Frank Butler, and Forest Carper. Interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. Esther Anderson, daughter of William S. and Caroline Victor, was born in Jefferson County, Ohio, October 7, 1867. She came to Iowa with her parents when a small child and lived here continuously since then with the exception of two years spent in Illinois. She was married to Pete Anderson in the year of 1888. To this union twelve children were born. Her husband and seven children having preceding her in death. The children left to mourn her passing are; Mrs. Roy D. Stewart of Boone, Iowa; James Anderson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Herbert of Oregon; Mrs. Carl Taylor and Don Anderson of Villisca. She also leaves two sisters and three brothers. The sisters are Mrs. Zada Diamond of New York and Mrs. Rose McDaris of Beaumont, California. The brothers are William Victor of Villisca, J. E. Victor of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Elmer Victor of Red Oak. There are 18 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Methodist Church, The G.A.R. circle and the Rebekah lodge. Villisca Review, Thursday, September 9, 1943, page 2
