The Misses Eckhardt will spend a day in Washington, where they will be personally entertained by Mrs. Herbert Hoover, who formerly lived in Monterey and where the trip were intimate friends. They will sail from New York on the S. S. Cameron and will visit Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, the Shakesperian country and the continent. Miss Etta Eckhardt founded the Monterey public library 23 years ago, and is taking her first extended leave of absence since 1907. According to the Passenger list of the S. S. Luncheon was served at 1 o'clock, at tables decorated with white watsonias, and yellow marguerites, with the gay place cards completing the attractive motif. Following luncheon, lovely corsages were presented to Mrs. Robert Dexter, club president; Mrs. T. H. Scholer, president-elect, and to the two guests, Miss Ethel De Witt and Miss Etta Eckhardt. An informal talk was given during the afternoon by Miss DeWitt, Pacific Grove librarian.
