EVA MARTENEY Eva Lillian Callam Marteney, daughter of Albert E. and Carrie Schmidt Callam was born March 4, 1899, at Pawnee City, Nebraska, and passed away November 20, 1866 at their home in DuBois, Nebraska, following a lingering heart condition at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 16 days. At the age of eight years she moved with her parents to a farm north of DuBois, Nebraska, where she resided until her marriage to Frank W. Marteney of DuBois, Nebraska, on December 18, 1919. EVA MARTENEY Eva Lillian Callam Marteney, daughter of Albert E. and Carrie Schmidt Callam was born March 4, 1899, at Pawnee City, Nebraska, and passed away November 20, 1866 at their home in DuBois, Nebraska, following a lingering heart condition at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 16 days. At the age of eight years she moved with her parents to a farm north of DuBois, Nebraska, where she resided until her marriage to Frank W. Marteney of DuBois, Nebraska, on December 18, 1919. Mrs. Marteney was a member of the E. U. B. Church in DuBois, Nebraska. In her death she is survived by her husband Frank of their home, three sons, Herbert Marteney, Seneca, Kansas; Arthur Marteney, Sabetha, Kansas; Fred Marteney, Bern, Kansas; one daughter, Opal Gugelman, Bern, Kansas; and a niece, Donna Turner, Bern, whom she raised in her home several years in early childhood; one brother Reuben Callam, Pawnee City, one sister, Blanche Slater of Humboldt; and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Victor, one sister, Violet and one granddaughter, Marilyn. Mrs. Marteney was a loving and thoughtful wife and mother. She was deeply devoted to her 14 grandchildren and was always thoughtful of her many friends. Before her failure of health, she had a great interest in her garden and flowers. She will be sadly missed by her family, relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical United Brethren Church at DuBois on Nov. 23 with Rev. A. F. Wener and rev. Charles Grier officiating. Music was furnished by David Rinne, soloist; Nancy Rinne, organist. Pallbearers were Howard Koester, Ivan Wissler, Lyle Droge, Glenn Allison, Lyle Farwell and Lawrence Meier. Interment was in the DuBois cemetery.
