Description	:	FLORENCE ALMEDA MARSHALL Florence Almeda Portwood was born near Macon, Illinois, January 16th, 1874, and passed away at her home in Nelson, Nebraska, January 7th, 1917, being 42 years, 11 months and 21 days of age. She moved to Edgar, Nebraska, with her parents in 1885, returning to Illinois in 1885, and again coming to Nebraska in 1887, where she resided at the farm home south of Edgar until her marriage. Read More	FLORENCE ALMEDA MARSHALL Florence Almeda Portwood was born near Macon, Illinois, January 16th, 1874, and passed away at her home in Nelson, Nebraska, January 7th, 1917, being 42 years, 11 months and 21 days of age. She moved to Edgar, Nebraska, with her parents in 1885, returning to Illinois in 1885, and again coming to Nebraska in 1887, where she resided at the farm home south of Edgar until her marriage. She was united in the bonds of holy wedlock with Mr. C.H. Marshall December 25th, 1898. To this union seven children have been born, five of whom survive her: Mildred, Clarice, Lovell, Halburton and an infant son. Two infant sons have preceded her to the home beyond. She leaves also her father and mother, two sisters and four brothers to mourn her death. Her first residence after marriage was at Angus, and she has since lived at Beaver City, Arapahoe, and Holdrege, until some eight years ago, when the family came to make their home in Nelson. Her life has always been a busy and helpful one, when she suffered a paralytic stroke, she was ever active in Sunday school, church, lodge and community work. She was an active member of the Royal Neighbors and was Recorder-Secretary of the lodge for some time at Angus. She taught school for two years until her mother's failing health made heer (sic) presence necessary in the home, where she so faithfully managed the household for several years. Words fail to express the meaning of such a life, always one of service for others, even the terms daughter, wife, mother, do not tell all. She has always lived a consecrated Christian life, never complaining, never doubting, never fearing, and her true reward now comes to her on the other shore. The funeral was held from the M.E. church (sic) Tuesday at one o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.W. Hull assisted by Rev. F.G. Knauer, and burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic). Among those from out of town who attended the funeral, were: Mr. and Mrs. John Caldwell, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Mills, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Brown, Mr. and Mrs. James Chance and daughter (sic) Mary and Nellie, Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Milleger, Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Musick, Mrs. C. Adams of Edgar; Mr. and Mrs. Lew Moss, Mr. and Mrs. Will Dunn, Mrs. Will Peters, Miss Grace Crandell of Angus; Mrs. Harvey Marshall, Purdum; Mrs. Mae Worley, Wallace; John C.
