While working in the kitchen she suffered a stroke at about 8 o'clock in the morning and peacefully passed away about five hours later. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Bowman invited in some friends for dinner to help celebrate their twentieth wedding anniversary and Mrs. Bowman seemed in her usual health. Her sudden death was shock to the whole community. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Tursday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Glenn Clark officiating. Mrs. Charles Rippey and Mrs. Earl Rabuck sang some of Mrs. Bowman's favorite hymns. Burial was in the local cemetery. The obituary as read at the service by Rev. Clark follows: Florence Elizabeth Kile Bowman was born in Illinois, Feb. 19, 1868, and passed away at her home in Coon Rapids April 24, 1934, at the age of 66 years, 2 months and 4 days. She was the daughter of Elijah and Eleanor Kile. When a girl in her teens she moved with her parents from Muscatine county, Iowa, to Dallas county. On April 21, 1914, she was united in marriage to Benjamin Bowman at the home of her sister, Mrs. Nellie Wilcox, at Perry. They came to Coon Rapids where they have since made their home. Last Saturday, April 21, they celebrated their 20th anniversary. Mrs. Bowman was in her usual health up to Tuesday morning when about 8 o'clock she suffered a stroke of paralysis and passed away peacefully at 1:15 that afternoon. Left to mourn her sudden passing are her husband, Benjamin Bowman, and two sisters; Mrs. Nellie Wilcox and Mrs. Jane Michael, both of Perry; one brother, Earnest Kile of Aitkin, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Fred French of Coon Rapids, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and a host of friends.
