Florence was born on March 21, 1918, in Tripoli, Iowa, the daughter of Albert H. and Amanda Rose (Judas) Hunemuller. She was baptized on March 31, 1918, and confirmed on Palm Sunday in 1933, both at St. John's Lutheran Church – Crane Creek, rural Tripoli. Read More	Florence Gors, 93, of Waverly, Iowa, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, at the Waverly Health Center, Waverly, Iowa, of natural causes. Florence was born on March 21, 1918, in Tripoli, Iowa, the daughter of Albert H. and Amanda Rose (Judas) Hunemuller. She was baptized on March 31, 1918, and confirmed on Palm Sunday in 1933, both at St. John's Lutheran Church – Crane Creek, rural Tripoli. Florence attended country school in Fremont Township and then attended the Tripoli High School. Following her schooling, she helped her parents on the farm and on June 14, 1936, she was united in marriage to Robert Carl Gors in Tripoli, Iowa. The couple made their home in rural Waverly for four years where Florence helped Robert on the farm. The couple then moved to Florence's home place for one year before moving to the Gors family farm in 1941. Robert died on June 8, 1966, and Florence continued to live on the farm for a total of 70 years, until becoming a resident of the Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community just a couple of weeks ago. Florence was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly and even when she was not able to attend church she would listen to the radio broadcast. She loved to collect salt and pepper sets, doing crossword puzzle books, reading books, and really enjoyed her time on the farm, especially raising her chickens. She is survived by her daughter, Betty (Harry) Barkhausen of Waverly, Iowa; three grandchildren, Jackie (Denny) Wilson of Evansdale, Natasha Barkhausen of Waverly, Mildred Rinnels of Waucoma; six great grandchildren, Robert (Sami) Rinnels of Cresco, Tyler Rinnels of Waucoma, Nicole Rinnels of Waverly, Ashley (Josh) Grubbs of Woodward, Lorissa Wilson of Woodward, and Danielle Wilson of Evansdale; two great great grandchildren, Bryant Grubbs of Woodward and Leah Rinnels of Cresco. Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert C. Gors on June 8, 1966; her son-in-law, Jasper (Jack) Rinnels on January 18, 1976, two grandsons, Nicholas J. Rinnels on April 16, 2008 and Kent Robert Rinnels on March 7, 2010; and a great grandson, Dustin Rinnels on March 11, 1989. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly, with Pastor Curt Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Harlington Cemetery in Waverly. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church School in Waverly.
