Description	:	Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph Ankeny, 64, who died Saturday, April 28 at her home here were held Tuesday, April 29, at the Ankeny home, conducted by the Rev. Asa X. Popp, pastor of the Baptist Church in Red Oak. The singing was by Cecil Weaver accompanied by Mrs. Caroline Housen and in charge of flowers were Mrs. Lee Gage and MRs. Anna Freeman. Pall bearers were Ed Ankeny, Lonnie Milligan, Jim Milligan, R. D. Bontrager, Cecil Hoyt, and Kenneth Fauble, and interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. Florence Marie Graves, daughter of William and Margaret Graves, was born in Omaha, Nebraska, February 1, 1888. The graves family moved to Villisca when she was a small child and she has spent practically all of her life in this community. She was united in marriage with Joseph Ankeny November 1, 1902 in Villisca and to this union seven children were born, five boys and two girls. Mrs. Ankeny made her Christian decision in her younger years following her Lord in baptism and uniting with the Villisca Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of this church and retained her membership here until her death. Four years ago she suffered a stroke from which she partially recovered. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, two children, Mary Margaret and Leslie and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Yaffee and Mrs. Bell Valiant. She is survived by her husband, her children, Isaac, Darwin, Milton, and Helen, Villisca, and Joseph, Jr. Lyman, Iowa; two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Dora Valiant, Spokane, WashingtonJoe Graves, Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Frank Braden, Griswold and nine grandchildren.
