Description	:	Last rites for Joseph W. Ankeny, jr., 39, were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Sutphen Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Herbert H. Stahnke. Mr. Ankeny died Tuesday afternoon, October 4 at his home at 100 Fifth Avenue, his death resulting from a heart attack. He became ill while at work down town and died within a couple of hours after he went home complaining of a pain in the chest. Singing at the funeral was by William A. Pall bearers were Orval Marsh, John Duggan, Russell McNeal, Bruce Marsh, John Darold, and Max Nordyke, and interment was in the Villisca Cemetery. Joseph Willis Ankeny, Jr., son of Joseph Ankeny, Sr., and Florence Marie Graves, was born here August 15, 1916. He spent the days of his youth here, where he attended school and affiliated with the Baptist Church. On February 8, 1944 he was married to Opal Quibble of Hastings, Nebraska, the ceremony taking place in Smith Center, Kansas. For 14 years he was employed by Frank Braden Construction Company, Red Oak, and at the time of his death he was employ of the Marsh Service Station in Villisca. He is survived by his wife, Opal, one daughter, Beverly, his father, three brothers, Isaac, Darwin, and Milton, one sister, Helen Belding, and several nieces, and nephews all of Villisca.
