Surviving, her husband, Mac Absher of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Thomas Hash of Independence, VA; son and spouse, Doug and Gladys Absher of Independence, VA; two gtandchildren, Samantha Absher and Ethen Absher of Independence, VA; one great-granddaughter, Remington Lea Rutherford of Independence; three sisters and spouses, Louise Wood of Independence, Helen and Garland Ball of Galax, and Mary and Ronald Willard of Galax; one brother and spouse, Tony and Angie Cheeks of Independence; sister-in-law, Geneva Cheeks of Elk Creek, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service Monday, June 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Saddle Creek Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Cheeks will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m.
