BARNETT SUCCUMBS TO HEART ATTACK Died suddenly this morning in yard at 500 South Fifth street Francis Arthur Barnett, better known as "Barney" Barnett by those who knew him, died suddenly this morning about 9:00 a.m. of a heart attack. It was stated that Mr. Barnett was chasing a chicken in the back yard of the property at 500 South Fifth street when he was stricken. Mr. Barnett was born April 19, 1874, near Germanville (sic. may not have been actually born in Germanville, but for the sake of simplicity will use that location for the birth location on this memorial). He had spent practically his entire life in Jefferson county. For the past several years he had lived at 402 West Madison street. He was a custom butcher and was well known throughout the county through his trade. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Robert Johnson, Fairfield; Myrtle Marie and Jessie at home; and one son, John Barnett of this city. Two grandchildren, Kathryn and Sonny Johnson also survive. The body was taken to the Hoskins funeral home where funeral arrangements are pending. Coroner Jack Raymond and Sheriff H. F. Goodale were called to the scene but it was stated that no inquest would be held.
