Description	:	Frank Aaron Scherzinger, son of John Berthold and Rosa Ann Scherzinger, was born at Clarington, Ohio, on April 7, 1965, and departed this life at Brodstone Memorial hospital in Superior, Nebr., on May 7, 1955, at the age of 90 years and one month. Read More	Frank Aaron Scherzinger, son of John Berthold and Rosa Ann Scherzinger, was born at Clarington, Ohio, on April 7, 1965, and departed this life at Brodstone Memorial hospital in Superior, Nebr., on May 7, 1955, at the age of 90 years and one month. Mr. Scherzinger's interest in the trade he was to make his life's work began when he apprenticed as a young boy with the Clarington Independent. He came to Nelson, Nebr., in the spring of 1885, where he has lived continuously for the past 71 years. On Febr. 11, 1886, after a brief employment with the then young Nelson Gazette, he became its owner and publisher. On Nov. 14, 1894, he was married to Bess Heath Bradley of Nelson. To this union were born a daughter and a son. At the end of his active service to his newspaper in June 1953, Mr. Scherzinger held Nebraska's longest continuous publishing record. At the time of his death he was still the titular head of the paper managed by his son Vic. His wife, who died Dec. 17, 1949, was his faithful helper with The Gazette for more than 50 years. Mr. Scherzinger was an early day director of the Superior city band and led the Nelson band for 25 years. For many years he directed the choir of his church, the Presbyterian, and at the time of his death was still honored as a member of its official board. In an extremely active life devoted to the best interests of his community he served on its city council, board of education, cemetery board and as secretary of its Chamber of Commerce. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, three younger brothers, Charles W., Jacob F., and a child dying in infancy, and two sisters, Edith T. and Alma E. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Ruth I. Wehrman of Hastings, his son Vic, of Nelson, two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, May 12, 1955; pg. 3 Funeral services were held at 9:30 o'clock Monday morning, May 9, 1955, in the First Presbyterian church (sic) of Nelson, with the Reverend Mr. Wilbur F. Swan of the Superior church officiating. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
