Read More	Frank Halupnik Dies at Home Here—Long Time Resident of County Frank Halupnik died at 5 o’clock Sunday morning at his home in east Traer. He was a victim of anemia, and had been in, falling health for a year or more. He was sixty-eight years old. Mr. Halupnik was one of the large Halupnik family which settled in Tama county more than fifty-five years ago. He was born in Bohemia in June 1855. His parents and six children immigrated to America in 1866. They spent several months in Baltimore, Md. then moved to Marshall county, Iowa, which was their home for about two years. The father purchased 120 acres of land in Carroll township, Tama county. ln 1868, and moved his family to the homestead, seven miles south of Traer. Mr. Halupnik started farming on forty acres in Carroll township given to him by his father. Later he bought eighty acres three and a half mile s south, of Traer, which was his home many years. He married Anna Pulkrabek, sister of Joe and Frank Pulkrabek, of this community. The couple had no children. In February of last year, Mr. Halupnik rented his farm to Vince Fikjs and bought property in east Traer, where he and his wife have lived the past year. Mr. Halupnik’s mother died more than forty years ago and his father about twenty-s ix years ago. He is the first of the family of eight children to die. Besides the widow he is survived by three brothers and four sisters— John, south of Traer, who is seventy-five years old Louis, of Trae, and Joe, living near Brawley, California; Mrs. Mary Ledvina, near Chelsea; Mrs. Joe Kopriva, south of Traer; Mrs. Josie Uridil, near Garwin; and Mrs. Katie Bruna, living north of Cedar Rapids. The funeral was held Wednesday morning — a short service at the home in Traer at 10 o’clock, followed by a more extended service at St. Vaclav church in Carroll township in charge of the Rev. Father Vopatek, of Clutier. Burial was in St. Vaclav cemetery.
