Description	:	OBITUARY: SHUMAKER RITES SUNDAY-Frank Shumaker, 68, route 1, Atchison, died today at the Atchison hospital. He had been ill for several months and had been hospitalized part of that time. Funeral services will be held at 2 P. M. at the Stanton chapel with the Rev. Harold Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Sumner cemetery. Members of the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P. M. Saturday at the Stanton mortuary. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Shumaker, early day settlers in the Sumner area. He engaged in farming all his active life, and for 15 years was employed by the Pillsbury Co. Mr. Shumaker and the former Grace Fleiner of south of Atchison were married in June of 1921. She died Sept. 1, 1957. He was a member of the Atchison county National Farmers Organization. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dave (Velma) Christman, Glendale, Mo., and Mrs. Richard (Esther) Dunning, Elkhart, Ind.; two sons, Kenneth Shumaker, Leavenworth, and Robert Shumaker, route 1; a sister, Mrs. Winnie Hanf, and a brother, Edwin Shumaker, south of Atchison; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.(Src: Atchison Globe, Thursday December 26, 1968.)
