Clark Snider of 1010 Pearl St., Grinnell, died Monday, May 5 at Grinnell General Hospital West. He had been ill for the past six months. The son of Dennis F. and Margaret Rivers Snider, Mr. Snider was born July 20, 1898, in Union Township, Poweshiek County. He served during World War I and following his discharge married Margaret Ann (Madge) McCoy at Montezuma on Jan. 14, 1920. Four children were born to this union. Mr. and Mrs. Snider farmed in Union Township until 1943 when they moved to Sully where Mr. Snider worked for John Deere Implement. In 1951 they moved to Grinnell where Mr. Snider worked as a mechanic for Massey-Harris. The couple had lived in Grinnell since 1951. Mr. Snider was a member of Hopeful Barracks World War I Veterans. Survivors include his wife, Madge; four children - Mrs. Bill (Margaret) McCulley of Grinnell; Charles C. Snider of Geneseo, Ill.; James F. Snider of San Francisco, Calif., and Edgar E. Snider of Midlothian, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Fay Snider of Ottumwa; one sister, Mrs. Anna Tish of Montezuma; and one half-brother, Ferman Provin of Newton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 8, at the First Assembly of God Church in Grinnell. The Rev. Sam Reaves will officiate at the 1:30 p.m. services.
