Dent passed away late last Wednesday afternoon after a lengthy illness, aged 25 years, 2 months and 17 days. Deceased was born in Dubuque March 15, 1883, but the greater part of his life was spent in this county, having resided on a farm south of Turkey River with his parents for some time and later coming to Guttenberg where he learned the barber trade and afterward conducted a shop up until about a year ago when his physical condition compelled him to give up his work. Prior to his death he had not been confined to his bed any great length of time but for the past few weeks had been steadily failing. About a year ago he had been united in marriage to Miss Frances Boder of this city, who together with his mother, stepfather, brother William and sister Margie survive. During his residence in Guttenberg Mr. Dent made many friends, who sincerely regret his early death and extend their sympathy to the young widow and relatives. The body will arrive here this afternoon and the funeral will take place tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon from the residence of his wife's mother' Mrs. Elizabeth Boder, under auspices of Prairie la Porte lodge, No. 147, A. Dent died Wednesday afternoon at the home of his mother, at Turkey River. Deceased was born at Dubuque, March 15, 1882. He had resided on a farm with his parents until he came to Guttenberg several years ago and learned the barber trade with John Luther, Jr., whose interest in the business he acquired, but, owing to failing health, was obliged to retired about a year ago. He was married to Miss Francis Boder, of Guttenberg, July 29th, 1907. Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Henry Minger, brother William, sister Margie and his stepfather. He had been in Chicago during the winter for treatment of his feet, with good result. Early in spring Tuberculosis had developed and from which he suffered until the final release. He was a quiet young man of pleasant ways and his early departure is regretted by all who knew him. The funeral will take place from the residence of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Boder, under the auspices of Prairie la Porte lodge, No. 147, A. F. & A. M., at 2:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Interment will be in the City cemetery.
