Description	:	Frederick Francis Versaw, Son of Francis E. and Sarah C.Versaw, was born July 5, 1867 near Sodus, Michigan and passed away at his farm home June 11, 1946 at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 6 days. He was one of ten children of whom only seven survive, The deceased lived in Michigan until 1881 when he came with his parents to Cook. Read More	Frederick Francis Versaw, Son of Francis E. and Sarah C.Versaw, was born July 5, 1867 near Sodus, Michigan and passed away at his farm home June 11, 1946 at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 6 days. He was one of ten children of whom only seven survive, The deceased lived in Michigan until 1881 when he came with his parents to Cook. He attended school in Shenandoah, Ia. later teaching school in Johnson county. On February 1, 1891, he was united in marriage to Minnie A. Cook who preceded him in death. To this union five children were born. The family resided on a farm near Cook, moving north of Bloomington in 1900. In 1907, they moved to the farm northwest of Franklin. He was united in marriage to Arzella Versaw Dec. 29, 1934. He was converted when a young man and remained true to his faith. He was a member of the Franklin Methodist church and was a willing worker, teaching a Sunday school class for several years and serving on the official board. He has been in failing health the past few years. He entered the Bryan Memorial Hospital for treatment and leg amputation returning to his home by ambulance May 24. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Arzella; 3 sons, Paul E. of Lincoln, Herbert E. of Center, Colorado, Willie K. of Franklin; 2 daughters, Mrs. Mary Jensby of Davenport, Mrs. Marian Thompson of Lexington; a stepson, Francis A. Versaw of Stockton, Calif.; 21 grandchildren, 4 brothers, Herbert of Franklin, Don of Bloomington, Darrel of Ayr and Charles of Chadron; 3 sisters, Miss Ethel Versaw of Franklin, Mrs. Gay Gilmore of Ayr and Mrs. Alma Allen of Nampa, Idaho. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Friday morning, June 14 with Rev. M. R. Willin in charge. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery.
