Obit also states Christina's last name as Schreiner (unlike the information obtained from Mooresville Library Legacy Link-above). ------------------ Full Obituary: Frederick Keller was born in the state of Baden, Germany, November 17, 1826. He was the third son of David and Salome Keller. He removed with his parents to this country when he was about twenty two years old. They settled in Morgan county, which has been his home since that time. He was married to Eunice Bray on the 2nd of May 1850, he being then in his 24th year. There were born to this union two sons and two daughters, both of the daughters are still living. A shadow came early on his life. His wife died in August A.D. 1856, leaving him away from his native land the care of small children and not just quite thirty years of age. He was married to Christina Schreiner, who now survives him, fifty-one years ago the 30th day of last August. To them have been born eleven children, six sons and five daughters. Five of these sons and two daughters are still living and are in this presence. A faithful and loving wife; nine children; eighteen grand children and five great grand children still survive him. These with many other relatives and friends will greatly miss him. He was brought up in the Lutheran church in his childhood and doubtless had instilled in him early in life those principles of honesty and right living that have lain the foundation for a life of usefulness in this community. He was converted in the Methodist Episcopal church in Mooresville soon after his first marriage, he and his wife united with the church. Soon after his second marriage he and his second wife united with the Friends church, since which time he has been a worthy member of White Lick monthly meeting. He served faithfully in the capacity of overseer in the church for many years. Thus for a half century he has been a worthy member of this church and will be greatly missed by its members. He has been in declining health for about two years, during which time his strength has gradually ebbed away. Since last February he has been confined the most of the time to his bed and for the last ten days he was not able to be upon his feet. During all of this time he exhibited a tender Christian spirit, and grew more and more anxious to depart and be with Christ. He died peacefully without a struggle at eleven a.m., September 4, A.D. 1908. Aged 81 years, 9 months and 17 days.
